"Augmented Curiosities"

One week multimedia workshop with 10 design students  from the Visual Communication and Design department.

This Workshop is based on creative works using Augmented reality tools.

  •  Discover how to use mobile devices, not only as a mean of communication (or a media for watching movies) , but as a creative tool.
  •  Explore the new writing potentialities offer by AR technology, understand his limit.
  • Create a reflective relation between students practices: paintingstraditional printed or sculpture and a digital layer (video/3d...)
  •  Topic: reflection on how to represent strange, metaphysical, invisible (or not yet visible) phenomenons: scientific like electricity? Qi energy? belief like a God?)

This year, a new image rises from the observatory of the unseen... for the first time a black hole was "pictured"

More Inspiration.

Cabinets of curiosities are rooms, or sometimes pieces of furniture, where “rare, new, singular things” are stored and displayed. In the 18th century, at the time of the colonies and the first archaeological excavations, plants, animals, exotic objects and even treasures from Ancient Egypt were discovered in Europe. Bizarre and amazing finds that wealthy notables liked to display in their private salons to impress their guests. Originally showcases of the oddities of the world with a scientific vocation, the “cabinet of curiosities” style was born!

In one week, students will give form to short interactive stories, integrating their own practice and ideas to represent their beliefs or non scientific phenomenons.
